Project Description:  The scope of work consists of the phased renovation of an existing midrise (four story) building in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. The interior renovation area is approximately 62,500 SF which will be complete two floors at a time to allow staff to occupy the other two floors during construction. All Life Safety measures must remain operational throughout construction and there are some site civil and landscaping work included. This project will comply to attain USGBC LEED certification. This project will utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) to the 500 level for Facility Maintenance. All subcontractors will be required to provide the necessary LEED documents for the construction credits and coordinate with the appropriate software to facilitate the BIM. This project will also include Prevailing Wage Rates in accordance with General Decision Number FL140009 02-28-14 FL9.

Bond Requirements: All bidders must include a separate rate for the Payment and Performance Bond premium on the Base Bid if the amount exceeds $50,000.  Pirtle Construction may institute a Subguard program on this project.  Additionally, Pirtle Construction will require each subcontractor whose proposal exceeds the above amount to provide their financial statements to confirm enrollment into the program.  Pirtle Construction reserves the right to request any subcontractor to obtain their own Payment and Performance Bond at the cost identified on the Bid Form if the enrollment is not approved.

 

M/WBE, SBE, LDB Particpation: Broward County and Pirtle Construction encourage participation by certified CBE certified subcontractors. This project has established a participation goal of 28% CBE.  This project will also include Prevailing Wage Rates in accordance with General Decision Number FL140009 02-28-14 FL9.
