Company Overview
Pirtle Construction Company was founded in 1968 as Pirtle, Brewer and Clark Construction Co., Inc. In 1972, James B. Pirtle gained controlling interest of the company and incorporated it as James B. Pirtle Construction Company, Inc., now doing business as Pirtle Construction Company. Since 1968, Pirtle Construction Company has established itself as one of the most highly respected construction companies in Florida.
The Pirtle team prides itself on having a unique hands-on approach to construction, starting at the very top. All of our executives have direct, on-site experience working in construction in addition to their varied backgrounds in construction and engineering. Three out of five have their State of Florida General Contractors license. Pirtle's executives are directly involved in managing and overseeing different projects and site walk-throughs by executives is standard practice.
We offer training and mentoring programs to all of our employees so that every member of our team has a chance to grow in experience and expertise. We pride ourselves on meeting and exceeding safety standards on every one of our construction projects. We can work with any team of designers and builders, quickly resolving challenges and offering solutions and advice.
We've led the way in "green" building and sustainable design, having built four of the first LEED Certified buildings in South Florida, including our own LEED Silver office building in Davie. In 2009, the National Green Building Committee of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) named Pirtle Construction a "National Certified Green Contractor." Pirtle is the first contractor in the State of Florida and eighth in the U.S. to receive this certification.
With an annual project volume of over $300 million, Pirtle Construction Company has a wide range of commercial and institutional expertise as well as an unbeatable track record of quality and success. We've grown consistently throughout our history, constructing more than 400 facilities throughout Florida. Our experience includes the successful completion of more than 250 K-12 and higher education projects, as well as libraries, cultural arts centers, museums, office buildings, public safety facilities, municipal complexes, healthcare and parking garages.
