Minority and Small Business Commitment (M/WBE/SBE/CDBE/CSBE)

Pirtle Construction's work is primarily with public sector agencies. Pirtle Construction works to support M/WBE minority firms to promote them into successful companies. All M/WBE requirements and goals are exceeded on all of our projects. Pirtle is committed to the growth and success of our local M/WBE and small businesses. Our Pre-Construction Department, Executives as well as Project Managers and Superintendents mentor, train and assist all minority subcontractors with the process. Some areas of training include construction management including cost control, scheduling, constructability reviews, quality control, accounting, payroll, safety, training programs, subcontractor solicitation, and estimating, just to name a few.

Pirtle is involved heavily and supports the following: School District of Palm Beach County's Office of Diversity Minority Monthly luncheons; Palm Beach Matchmaker, Broward County minority sponsorships and events; School Board of Broward County?minority sponsorships and events; as well as local trade organizations such as ABC, AGC, CASF and AIA. Pirtle Construction mentors, trains, lowers bonding capacity requirements, and in some instances offers payment assistance to enhance the MWBE Small Businesses that we work with. We have multiple solicitation methods and post all of our bid drawings on our FTP site for quick and convenient access for all of our subcontractors.

Pirtle Construction utilizes the SDPBC Minority Form 1528 to track and measure our M/WBE Small Business success. Each of our clients has a different form that we utilize to track our participation while our Project Managers utilize an internal report to exceed those goals. Our Pre-Construction Department keeps a detailed database of M/WBE and small business contractors that we solicit and rate for every project. Many of our subcontractors grow extensively and graduate from the M/WBE small Business program because of the mentoring and assistance that the Pirtle team offers.

Pirtle has fostered the growth of many minority firms by allowing them to continue to be successful businesses with bonding assistance and additional subcontract awards. Many have become so successful they have graduated from M/WBE programs based on annual dollar and/or volume of business. The commitment of this firm to meeting the objectives of increased M/WBE participation is demonstrated by the testimonials we have received. Some great examples of continued improvement and success are HYVAC Mechanical, Stanford & Sons, Healey Plumbing and Applegate Interiors.
