H. Jessie Brewer, LEED AP BD+C, Senior Vice President
As Senior Vice President, Jessie Brewer provides leadership in operations, estimating, pre-construction, client development, marketing and sales. Since joining Pirtle in 2007, Brewer has worked closely with senior management to implement operational and sales strategies that align with the company’s overall business goals. He provides operational leadership and develops key strategic initiatives related to new markets, client base expansion and retention, and business organization. Through his direction, Pirtle Construction’s client base, strategic approach and quality of services have greatly improved, benefitting both the company and its clients.
With more than 32 years of construction industry experience and having served in National senior executive positions, Brewer brings a wealth of industry knowledge and leadership to the Pirtle team. He has overseen projects design-build and construction management at risk projects throughout Florida, Virginia and the Carolina’s including hotels, airports, corporate office buildings, banking facilities, military bases, schools, colleges and universities, and a Federal Courthouse. His vast experience includes working with notable clients such as Carnival Cruise Lines, Burger King, University of Florida, Duke University, University of Virginia, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, Miami Dade College, Broward College, as well as Broward, Dade and Palm Beach County School districts.
Some notable projects include the $215 million Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, NC; a new $77 million Science Research Center for the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC; the $78 million, LEED Silver Certified Center for Interdisciplinary Engineering, Medical and Applied Sciences (CIEMAS) Research at Duke University in Durham, NC; the $26 million LEED Gold Florida Atlantic University / University of Florida Davie West Science Research Center in Davie, FL; and the $34 million City of Miami and Miami Dade County Public Schools College of Policing & School of Law Studies, Homeland Security & Forensic Sciences in Miami, FL.
Brewer, a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction, is a State of Florida Certified General Contractor and LEED Accredited Professional.
