We are currently looking for two summer interns to join our construction team for Summer. Internship positions are open to anyone pursuing a degree in Construction Management. Pirtle interns will work directly under a Project Manager in a “hands on” construction environment and will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day administrative and field work as directed. Typical duties include but are not limited to: day-to-day communication with subcontractors, inspectors, and owners; assist in management of coordination meetings and maintain meeting agenda and minutes; perform data entry; review and processing of submittals and RFI’s; document control of drawings and specifications for issued revisions; overseeing the project for the Project Manager.

The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting their assigned Project Manager in the management, project completion, client satisfaction, and financial outcome of assigned construction projects. The ideal candidate will be capable to assist their assigned Project Manager with the Project’s contractual requirements, document management, quality control and project safety.

The Assistant Superintendent supports the Project Superintendent with all field operations including directing the daily progress of the work and supervising all construction field activities and personnel. Report to, and carry our the direction of the Project Manager with respect to field operations, Continually work to assure adequate staffing of the jobsite work force, sufficient supply of materials, and complete information necessary to maintain the project schedule. Coordinate construction activities in advance so as not to interfere with the progress of any one component of the project. General duties include generating, or otherwise confirming all information needed to create, monitor, and modify the progress schedule on a continuing basis. Working with the Project Manager to develop and administer the site utilization program, site services, safety plan and security arrangements necessary for the project. Monitoring actual versus required performance by all parties and determines whether subcontractors are providing sufficient work force and hours of work to achieve performance commitments. Maintaining thorough familiarity with the requirements of the general contract and ensuring that the requirements are carried out. Responsible to ensure that all field work is being performed with a high standard of quality in a safe and efficient manner.

Jacob Katz

Vice President

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

As Vice President, Jacob Katz is responsible for the overall execution of projects from concept to completion. By providing operational oversight, he ensures that projects not only meet Pirtle’s high quality standards but that they are completed on time and within budget. Jacob is an excellent leader whose team building skills assist in leading architects, subcontractors and construction teams in finding the best solutions and options for clients. He is driven to ensuring that all team members meet the project goals and ultimately exceed client’s expectations.

 

Jacob Katz has over 16 years of construction management experience. Upon graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Building Construction in 2001, Jacob joined Pirtle Construction as a Project Engineer. Since that time Jacob has demonstrated outstanding commitment and dedication to Pirtle Construction which resulted in him being promoted to the positions of Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Director of Construction and most recently Vice President. Jacob has successfully managed both small and large projects with many of our clients and has continually been involved with operations, preconstruction services, marketing/business development, client retention, and he’s earned the respect of his colleagues.
