Canoe Creek K-8 Academy is an e-STEM School which incorporates an Environmental component to the traditional STEM programs. The 138,963 SF facility is a state-of-the-art facility that contains 24 classrooms, administrative offices, media center, music room, art room, kitchen, and dining. The facility also includes a gymnasium, parking, basketball courts, softball, track, and soccer fields. The project was designed in accordance with the School District of Oceola County’s goals of achieving High-Performance standards. The new building structure was constructed achieving an Energy Use Intensity (EUI) requirement of 25 or less and building Air Leakage maximum of 0.25 CFM/SF. Pirtle surpassed the School District’s goals achieving a lower EUI than 25.
