This project, owned by Broward College, re-purposed the existing library to a multipurpose classroom building that included: a learning resource area, nursing labs, general classrooms, computer classrooms, offices and support areas. The project required complete building services (electrical power, HVAC, plumbing, security, fire alarm, data and telephone systems, as well as a new fire sprinkler system). This LEED Silver facility was Broward County’s first official “green building” and also acts as a public library.
